Women thrive on attention. Most women love to be touched - to be caressed, to have their hair brushed or their shoulders rubbed. They melt into that sort of attention. You can actually see them 'let go'. It is a rare woman that does not enjoy a trip to the hairdressing salon when the hairdresser will give the woman their full attention; ask about what they want and how they feel. I'm told that many women reveal themselves over this hour of preening and that the average hairdresser holds onto many secrets - of affairs, of how they really feel about their husbands and children and what they would do if they had their time over. There is something about the 'preening process' that has us bring down our guard.
There is nothing quite so arousing as when a man is interested in you: not just your body or even your personality, but the way you think. Questions are an amazing turn-on but even if a man begins the relationship by showing a good deal of interest about the woman's mind, this interest tends to wane and instead of asking questions, their opinions tend to take over. That is not to say that a woman does not enjoy a man who knows his own mind. It is just that she is very impressed if he also wants to know about her mind. You can't really force this but I suppose with practise and consideration, you could certainly get better at this skill of questioning.
There is the odd man who wants to know a woman's mind because he intends to alter her mind. Perhaps his intentions are honourable but this is where it can get sticky. He is giving the woman the attention she adores but it comes with a price: that his knowledge about her mind can be used to ensure she come his way. This is an exciting character to write about. He is a mixture of naughty and nice and women so often fall in love with the devil.
